Evening Reflections
This picture was featured in the April/May Issue (2017) of Mediterranean Gardening & Outdoor Living magazine as a step-by-step guide to the drawing and painting process. Of course there is a very serious message behind the painting too.

A walk around the coast near Godrevy (pre-lockdown) was the inspiration for my latest painting. I had yet to really explore this part of the Cornish coastline and was surprised by the amount of erosion and subsidence that gave the dominant cliffs and headlands a 'fractured' look. Despite the occasional birdsong there was an incredible quietness to the scene - even the waves crashing around the semi-submerged rocks far below my feet seemed to be hushed.
